Dean's Welcome

Greetings form the Graduate School of Global Cooperation

Hello! I'm Yang Ki-Woong, the dean of the Graduate School of Global Cooperation at Hallym University. In the 2018, according to the THE World University Assessment, Hallym ranks 800th in the world, 179th in Asia and 21st in Korea.

In addition, in 2015, the JoongAng Ilbo ranked third in the nation's best private universities and was selected for five major national projects, including LINC+ and the project to support universities that contribute to the normalization of high school education.

Hallym University, which has grown into a nationally renowned University, is preparing to grow further with "2016-2022 Hallym Great Leap" with three goals: "Advanced Talent Education," "Global Research Leadership" and "Community Development" by President Kim Joong-soo in 2016.

In September 2017, Hallym University opened the Graduate School of Global Cooperation with the aim of 'developing the local community' through 'advanced talent training' for the 'new great leap forward'. The Graduate School of Global Cooperation pursues 'Global Shared Growth of Local Communities' through knowledge base and human network held by the nation's top-notch professors and faculty of Hallym University.

The Graduate School of Global Cooperation aims to establish a global network with high-ranking government officials and Asian government agencies, which are becoming a new growth engine for advanced OECD countries and the global community, and to establish a global network with prestigious universities and renowned professors in Asia. Based on this global network, graduate students entering graduate schools will grow into 'global advanced talents' who will build a global network and lead the 'global co-development' of the community by studying with global talents.

This is the age for being glocal. 'Glocal' is a combination of 'global' for globalization and 'local' for localization. At first, it meant that global actors entered the local market, but now the spread of local businesses and local culture around the world is being called global. The Hallym Graduate School of Global Cooperation will be the Glocal Campus for our community, that will nurture future global talents. Thank you.
