As the size of Korea's Official Development Assistance (ODA) continues to grow, the scope of participation in international development cooperation is expanding to various areas of our society. Recently, the expansion of local participation has received much attention, and it would be desirable and plausible for local universities to play a leading role in expanding local ODA participation.
Universities have many favorable conditions in carrying out international development cooperation, such as securing professional human resources, having infrastructure, securing resources for development talent and training of overseas advancement personnel. The active participation of more universities is essential for the development of international development cooperation in Korea's international development cooperation.
Based on this background, Hallym University's Global Cooperation Innovation Center aims to establish its status as an organization specializing in international development cooperation, by first carrying out its functions of international development cooperation and ODA business promotion and overall business management in the university's overall global cooperation fields, discovering and carrying out various development projects at home and abroad, spreading values of international development cooperation, strengthening cooperation with local governments, and securing development expertise, etc.
